There was a “minor” smell of gas within the cafeteria at Southside Elementary School after their scheduled fire drill. We notified the gas company and they are enroute to the school. All children and staff are evacuating to the Oasis of Love Church until the gas company completes their inspection.
We will make a decision to return to school or dismiss early after consultation with the gas company.
Please do not rush to the school, all staff and children are safe. If you desire to pick your child up at Oasis of Love Church, staff are available for the proper sign out procedures.
