ESL Program Gifted Education Special Education
The Huntingdon Area School District provides special education and related services to appropriate resident children with disabilities who are age 5 to 22 under the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). School–aged children qualify for special education and related services if they have one or more of the following disabilities and need specially designed instruction:
- Intellectual Disability
- Hearing impairment
- Speech or language impairment,
- Visual impairment (including blindness)
- Emotional disturbance
- Orthopedic impairment
- Autism
- Traumatic brain injury
- Other health impairment
- Specific learning disability
- Deafness
- Deaf-blindness
- Multiple disabilities
Early intervention programming is available to children aged 3 through kindergarten admission who have developmental delays and are in need of special education and related services.
