NHS Scholarship
Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $30 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Due Date November 24,2025

America250PA’s Semiquincentennial Scholarship Program
In commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary and to honor the legacy of Pennsylvania’s strong commitment to education, America250PA will be awarding $250,000 in scholarships to deserving Pennsylvania students attending Pennsylvania colleges and universities in the 2026/2027 academic school year.

Pennsylvania High School Seniors who are planning to attend an accredited Pennsylvania college or university for the 2026/2027 academic school year

Twenty-five $10,000 Scholarships will be awarded throughout America250PA’s six designated regions.

Any Pennsylvania College or University

• 13 to any Pennsylvania Post-Secondary College or University

Scholarships will be awarded in 2026 for the 2026/2027 academic year.

M.H. Deforrest Memorial Scholarship
The Huntingdon Borough Police Department awards a senior HAHS student with the M. H. Deforrest Memorial Scholarship each school year. An applicant must be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, or other related field of study.
This scholarship is given by members of the Huntingdon Borough Police Department in memory of Marshall H. Deforrest, who served for over 25 years in various capacities in the Borough of Huntingdon. M. H. Deforrest served 12 years as the Mayor of Huntingdon Borough. Mayor Deforrest was a dedicated public servant and a friend to all law enforcement officers. This scholarship was first awarded in 1979.
Each recipient will receive a $500.00 scholarship, which will be forwarded to the financial aid director at a College or University with instructions to credit the recipient’s account. The funds can be used for tuition and/or books. Please see google classroom for application or stop in the guidance office.
