Superintendent:  Dr. Jennifer Mitchell

Jennifer Mitchell graduated from Juniata College, majoring in early childhood
and elementary education. She began her professional career as an
elementary teacher in the Huntingdon Area School District and also served as
an elementary librarian and K-8 instructional coach. 

Jennifer completed her graduate work in Administrative Leadership at
Edinboro University, where she obtained her principalship certification.  Dr.
Mitchell began her administrative career as a building leader and later served
as an elementary principal in the Huntingdon Area School District. She later
moved to the Mifflin County School District as lead elementary principal for a
K-3 building.

After receiving her Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility, she moved into the
central office as the Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional
Development for the Mifflin County School District. Following this role, she
transitioned to the Assistant Superintendent role at the Hollidaysburg Area
School District.

She is currently the Superintendent at the Huntingdon Area School District, a
post she has held since November 2021. Jennifer received her doctorate in
Educational Leadership from Pennsylvania Western University in 2025.
Dr. Mitchell and her husband, Toby, reside in Huntingdon, PA, where they
enjoy the many outdoor activities the area offers. She is the mother of three
grown children: Trevor, Taylor, and Jaelyn.
