Mrs. Young
Mrs. Anita Young is the Online Learning Director at Huntingdon Area School District. She supervises the BILD program to ensure HASD has a quality online learning option for K-12 students in the district. She provides the BILD staff quality professional learning opportunities specifically in online instruction. Mrs. Young also works with students to ensure they are successful with their online learning experiences and provides them the support they may need as well with tech support and planning for success. Along with BILD teachers, she progress monitors student success and attendance. Her office is located in the Central Office building; however, she spends her time at Huntingdon Area High School and Southside Elementary in the BILD classrooms as well. 7-12 Mathematics
Mr. Dunn is the secondary mathematics teacher in the BILD program. Originally from Youngstown, OH, he studied mathematics at West Virginia University. In addition to math, he also enjoys rock climbing, basketball, and music.
Elementary (K-6)
Mrs. McCracken is the primary BILD teacher. She joined us from Tyrone where she taught Kindergarten for 10 years. She is married to Johnny McCracken and has four children: Korynne (7), LJ (5), Elias (4), and Felicity (11 months). They love playing outside, baking, and watching Bluey. She is so excited to be a Bearcat again!
7-12 English/Language Arts
Mrs. Minor is the English BILD teacher for grades 7-12. She is originally from Michigan, but has been living in the area since graduating from Juniata College. She earned her masters degree in education from St. Francis in 2016 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Holocaust and Genocide studies. She married her husband in 2017 and had their first child at the end of 2020. Prior to coming to this district, she had been teaching English for 12 years teacher at Juniata Valley School District. She is very excited about this new endeavor of working in the BILD program and look forward to providing her students with a quality learning experience that is engaging and supportive.

Special Education (7-12)
Mrs. Shaffer has been working at Huntingdon Area SD for 5 years. She has earned her Master’s Degree from Wilson College and while working as an emotional support teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She likes to read, swim, and spend time with her family. She is very excited to join the BILD team!
7-12 Science
Mrs. Maclay is one of the Science BILD Teachers for grades 7-12. Mrs. Maclay is a 2017 Bearcat graduate. She then received her undergraduate degree from Juniata College in 2021. Prior to coming back to teach in Huntingdon, she taught science for two years in Mifflin County SD. During her free time, Mrs. Maclay enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and traveling. She is very excited about this new experience to teach in the BILD program and looks forward to this opportunity to work for her alma mater!
7-12 Social Studies
Miss Hower has taught Social Studies at the Huntingdon Area Middle School since 2016. After growing up in Lewistown, PA, she attended Elizabethtown College where she earned both her undergraduate and masters degree. Outside of teaching, Miss Hower enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching Pittsburgh sports and reading. Miss Hower is incredibly excited to begin her journey with BILD!
