7-12 Mathematics

Mr. Dunn is the secondary mathematics teacher in the BILD program. Originally from Youngstown, OH, he studied mathematics at West Virginia University. In addition to math, he also enjoys rock climbing, basketball, and music.

Elementary (K-2)

Mrs. McCracken is the primary BILD teacher. She joined us from Tyrone where she taught Kindergarten for 10 years. She is married to Johnny McCracken and has four children: Korynne (7), LJ (5), Elias (4), and Felicity (11 months). They love playing outside, baking, and watching Bluey. She is so excited to be a Bearcat again!

7-12 English/Language Arts

Mrs. Minor is the English BILD teacher for grades 7-12. She is originally from Michigan, but has been living in the area since graduating from Juniata College. She earned her masters degree in education from St. Francis in 2016 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Holocaust and Genocide studies. She married her husband in 2017 and had their first child at the end of 2020. Prior to coming to this district, she had been teaching English for 12 years teacher at Juniata Valley School District. She is very excited about this new endeavor of working in the BILD program and look forward to providing her students with a quality learning experience that is engaging and supportive.

Elementary (3-6)

Mr. Palguta has taught intermediate level students for 28 years. He has enjoyed his three years in the BILD program most of all! He loves spending time with and traveling with his family more than anything. He and his wife of 22 years have one daughter and a son together.

7-12 Science & Biology

Mrs. Potter is so excited to be teaching back in HASD! This will be her 21st year in the classroom (24th in education). She graduated from Millersville University with a dual teaching certification and attended Penn State University where she earned a MA in Community Psychology and Social Change. If she is not teaching then you are likely to find her with her son, husband and dog either in, on or near water. She loves kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing and traveling. She believes that every student can learn and her goal is to connect BILD learners to the natural world around them.

7-12 Social Studies

This is Miss Sabatino’s, or Miss Sabs’, first year teaching, and she is excited to start her journey in the BILD program. As a history teacher, she hopes to make history fun! History is full of stories, and she hopes to make them engaging so her students may gain a better understanding of the past.
