The Huntingdon Area School District encompasses an active community of 20,000 residents living in Central Pennsylvania. The student population consists of approximately 1000 elementary students (K-5). 600 Middle School Students (6-8), and 800 High School Students(9-12).
With educational programs to meet the needs of and goals of all students, the schools offer remedial education through gifted support programs. The schools also offer an extensive selection of electives including computer literacy, cooperative education, business education, agricultural and advanced science classes. Participation with the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center challenges interested students to advance to high-tech and career education programs. HASD has a collaborative partnership with Juniata College in Huntingdon that provides qualified students with a wide range of exceptional educational opportunities.
Extracurricular activities, interscholastic sports, excellent cooperation and support from the community, PTO’s, booster clubs, and volunteers enhance the efforts of the district staff.
